Do via flights bring in more passengers?

I have revamped my airline using via routes to see if that brings in more passengers. Through experience, can anyone tell me if this makes a noticeable difference or not?

Depends on traffic rights, connection times and hub structure, but no.

Please take the tip to sit through the guides written by members. You will discover that hub and spoke is king, never ever buy aircraft at the beginning and many other useful things which means you might not have to restart again

Two differences a via route makes:

1) you "save" a flight number pair -> only relevant for very large airlines

2) if you are flying in Africa (Yamoussoukrou Decision).

Otherwise there is no difference between operating AA->BB and BB->CC on the one hand or AA->CC via BB on the other.
