I remember seeing somewhere that if a player placed their airplane for sale for two weeks with no buyers, AS would buy them. Is this still true?

Yes, but only if you offer it at 10% for two weeks.
AS does not buy aircraft at higher prices.
Another question I can't find an answer to: The lowest bid in an aircraft auction decreases as time passes. But how long does it take really? 5% less per day on the market?
Usually takes a couple of days to start decreasing. It will decrease a little bit every couple of days, before returning back to its original price
Remember that if you wait for the price to decrease somebody else might take it.
