3-letter-code A320neo-family

Hey AS-Team,

just a minor wish but can you offer us new 3-letter-codes for the A320neo-family like you're offering it for the 737MAX? It should be "20N" for the A320neo and "21N" for the A321neo.

Thx in advance!

Well, the codes used for aircraft are the official ICAO codes. As ICAO doesn't make a distinction between the CEO and NEO A320-families you won't see it in-game.

You sure? I think ICAO does, but IATA doesn't.

I don't know who and how distinct them but I wouldn't love at all "20N" or "21N" anyway. If someone actually considered changing the coding, he should totally choose something like "3N0" and "3N1". Just thoughts as always...

For as far as I know neither IATA nor ICAO do make a distinction between CEO and NEO types A320-family aircraft. I do believe that IATA makes a distinction between A320-family aircraft with or without winglets. If I remember correctly the 32A or 32B are the codes for the A320 or A321 with winglets while 320 and 321 are the codes for the A320 and A321 without winglets.

And I would like to say that I wouldn't like it if the game would create its own aircraft codes. For realism and reference to official codes and system I would like them to keep all these things as close to RL as possible. So, unless ICAO choses to make a new code for the NOE series I think the game should stick with the current codes.

ICAO have chosen to make a new code for the Airbus A320neo family:

			319

But we do not use ICAO here, we usa IATA. Both for aircraft codes as well as airport codes. As IATA uses the same code for 320 NEO as for the CEO, there is no need to change anything.

ok if we're that strict on IATA-codes the sharklets version should be renamed to 32A (for A320 with sharklets) and 32B (for A321 with sharklets)

A320/A321 with sharklets = A320/A321 enhanced? If it is, and AS team actually renames those to A32A/A32B, I'll consider never getting enhanced A320 lol

It's a legacy setting and therefore it most likely would not be changed. Legacy stuff is usually left alone.
