airyemen has announced to lease a fourth Boeing 737-300 for flights to Mauritius, Saint Denis and other destinations to support the flights from Sana'a to Paris. This Boeing will be airyemen's eighth plane and will be equipped like two of three Boeing 737 with PrivateTV in Economy class. No new destination will come into the network.
Just some minutes ago flight YN 1 from Sana'a (SAH) to Paris (CDG) started punctual to the maiden flight of our Airbus A330-300. airyemen's first widebody flight ever had a good load. 196 passengers were on board while 276 would have been possible. The return flight YN 2 is fully booked already - most of the passengers are transfer passengers. Meanwhile the first flight ever for airyemen was YN 3107 from Riyadh (RUH) to Sana'a (SAH) by a Boeing 737-300 - fully booked with 141 passengers.
Beginning 12 August airyemen will increase the domestic offer with its ATR 42 turboprop planes. The connections between the hub in Sana'a (SAH) and Al Ghaydah (AAY), Saiyun (GXF), Socotra (SCT) and Taiz (TAI) were increased by one weekly flight to now two weekly flights. The new flights will leave Sana'a for the destination in the evening and return early for the morning departures wave at 8 am. The free capacities came from the cancellation of four weekly flights to Port Sudan (PZU) which leaves this route with three weekly departures.
The domestic traffic is growing with airyemen. Further expansions are planned and the leasing of additional ATR 72 turboprops are told to be a possible way to transport more passengers in heavy traffic times especially on the Aden (ADE) and Mukalla (RIY) routes.
airyemen leased a second Airbus A330-300 to expand the long haul network with London and Frankfurt. London Heathrow is reachable five times a week with our second widebody while Frankfurt is reachable on Saturday and Sunday. Also more and more Boeing 737 join the fleet. By now there are five Boeing 737-300 in the airyemen fleet with one more in talks right now. The CEO is quoted to be interested in Boeing 737-400 intra-Arabian flights.
Like any other business corporation airyemen has to achieve as much profit as possible while holding expenses and work as little as possible. Today the CEO Haidar Said Ghani has given interview with a local aviation newspaper.
We are in a tough environment with huge increases of competition - airlines grow rapidly at large airports and big investements are about to settle in open countries like Qatar - but airyemen is most likely one of those airlines which will stand changes. We are spotting an increase of the leasing costs of the "standard planes" which are used by almost every major airline such as the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320. Even quite old planes leave the yards in the desert for prices thrice or even more as high than what we pay and are willing to pay. airyemen is supposed to be a strong but small airline for anyone.
To achieve this target we started a program to adjust fares more flexibel to the needs of our customers and maintain a highest of profitability. For example we do fly our routes to St. Denis, Mauritius and other Indian Ocean destinations with special prices for each flight number which is unlikely in the business. This is giving us the chance to increase reputation by customers and also our interlining and code share partners by offering always the best prices to each time to these attractive destinations. On a side note being said that whereever we start a route - nobody can stand our prices, best connections and best service do pay.
On the other side, while we try to achieve as much profit as possible, we just recently announced to our staff that they will be paid 3% more effective next week. With another 2% later this year we want to thank our staff for their hard work and the management's thought is, just a happy staff can make happy passengers - happy customers. - airyemen CEO Haidar Said Ghani
Toulouse, France. CEO of airyemen Ghani today met the representatives of Airbus SAS in Toulouse to sign a rumoured deal for the all new Airbus A350XWB. The Airbus A350XWB of which five frames have been built so far is still in flight-testing but is supposed to enter commerical services in Q4 2014 in the 900 version. The contract for the order of factory new Airbus A350-900 for airyemen sums up to 12 frames with delivery throughout 2015 beginning mid-January and further six frames on option for the 900 and 1000 versions. It will replace the Airbus A330-300 fleet and increase capacity by 10 - 15% with same frequence on routes to Europe and Asia. About 300 to 310 seats (or about 360 - 370 in A350-1000) are supposed to be the maximum seating capacity in the known 2-class-standard, a first class is not planned. As engine airyemen chose the Trent XWB-84 since it offers the best performance for hot & high airports like Sana'a (SAH).
