Dragon International News.

We are Dragon International. Shanghai's new airline.

With recent slots now available in Shanghai, we have set up an airline based in Pudong. We serve high frequency domestic and some regional international flights on board boeing 757 aircraft. We did have 2 747;s but will not be working to our advantage and will be retired and replaced with 4 757's.

*By the end of our first week we hope on having 18 757's in our fleet offering over 350 departures a week from Shanghai.

*By the end of our third week we hope on having 30 757's in our fleet and over 500 departures a week from Shanghai.

*Once we have 50 aircraft, wide body aircraft will join and service popular destinations and hubs of our IL partners.

*We will also have regional aircraft offering flights to much smaller airports.

*Currently our load factor seems to be around 94% once operations start.

*Average profit margin per plane seems to be 50%.

Fun facts of Dragon International:

*We were once on Elinikon before giving up due to slot restrictions.

*We name our aircraft after tourist attractions of the cities that they are serving (i.e. Ice City for our aircraft serving Harbin).

*We have already added another 757, the aircraft named 'Temple of Five Lords' flies to Haikou with 19 weekly return trips adding another 3,800 seats out of Shanghai and 3,800 seats in. In three days time we hope to add another one serving another domestic destination.

*We have changed our BKK service with one to VTE. This is due to poor load factors and the fact our competition can't fill the route either.

*Our inaugural flight departed today. Flight DI 20 left Kunming airport exactly on schedule at 06:00 local time and will arrive in Shanghai just before 08:40 local time, just in time to connect to our 10:00 flights. However the flight was completely full (200/200) with direct passengers.

*New destinations this week include Kota Kinabalu, Urumqi, Lanzhou, Yinchaun and many more. By the end of the week we may have up to 20 operational 757's!

*Using a 767 aircraft we are flying to CPH 5 times a week. This is to connect with our partners in Europe.

*We now operate 422 flights a week using 23 boeing aircraft, not even done our first week and with a load factor of 92%.

*Our capacity is around 168,000 per week.

*Average passengers on any one flight would be 184.

*Aircraft names have been scrapped.

*Our flight numbers start with 1 if they are domestic from shanghai. they started with 47(4 digits) if they are international from Shanghai  and all other flights start from 7475.

*First week is over with a great start. We have managed to double our size in one week to 27 aircraft taking 100,000 passengers on 270 flights. Load factor was 90%. Some 767's will join our fleet to ensure capacity on our popular domestic routes and the 757's will be used to expand. We now have the capacity for over 200,000 weekly passengers on 1000 flights a week (500 out and 500 in).

We have met all of our targets ahead of schedule already having 30 aircraft and 568 departures. Flights to Beijing Xian and Hong Kong are now on our larger 767 aircraft which offer better seat comfort as well as a larger capacity. As there are a limited number of these aircraft we will have these replaced with a more modern wide body in a few weeks/days time.

We have joined Infinite Skies. We are proud to be a member of an alliance of established airlines as we continue to grow.

Finally, long haul has been cancelled until we are sure of filling aircraft up.

Dragon intend on having 80 aircraft and 1,500 flights within the month.

Dragon International has unveiled plans to replace all 757 aircraft with 737 and 767 aircraft. This is so we can have a more modern fleet. Once we have 80 aircraft we hope on replacing all 36 757 aircraft and have a target for this to be done by March 31st. 767 aircraft will most probably be the main choice for domestic whilst 737 could prop up on international and to smaller domestic airports.

* We are proud to have over 1,000 departures from Shanghai and are now safely No.1 in terms of passengers there. We are currently acquiring 767 aircraft and have 20 of these in our fleet. Our IPO went well. Currently we have 8 767-200, 8 767-300 and 4 767-300ER (one doing a flight to Denver that is working well!).

* Dragon's loads on international flights are picking up as well and we now still have a load factor 0f 90%.

*Terminal 6 at Shanghai Pudong airport has been created. Passengers heading on our 2 daily flights to Seoul can experience our amazing  5 star services and Jetways (some our double). Passengers transferring on to other Dragon Flights can still do so using buses on the airside and shortly we will expand Terminal 6 to more international services before it becomes our standard terminal.

*We hope to grow consistently balancing terminal expansions with new aircraft.

*Beijing hub is working well with other 120 departures (most are at around 04:30-05:30). Soon we may add proper international services.

*By February 10th all long haul flights to and from Shanghai will be departing from Terminal 6 along with Seoul, Denpasar and Surabaya.

*Dragon is renewing its flight with new 737's. All 757-200 will be replaced with 737-800/900 (scimitar) and 757-300 will be replaced with 767. Airbus A310 are being replaced with Boeing 737-700ER (scimitar) and Airbus A300 are being replaced with 767-300ERs.

*Terminal 6 is going well with several flights now departing from it.
