I have been playing this game for quite some time, 3 years. It was very much fun and I met some nice guys here.
But I also realized that there are many people around here who are not nice. And I also realized that the game is stuck and will not move forward fast enough. And instead of opening the 100th new enterprise knowing how to kick others out, I decided to stop.
AS is great and most players also. Martin and his team did and are doing a very good job. But for me, the game is boring now.
I will not write as long as Christian did a few days ago. Just want to wish everybody all the best and good luck on your way through AS and of course real life! I have the feeling that time for me has come to leave.
With the right IL partner it works, indeed. But to connect France, you will not need a good IL partner and hence I would suggest to concentrate on French speaking countries first. Rest of the World will follow. :-)
You have already mentioned a valid point yourself. Algeria and France are not only well connected but speak also the same language. So France will be a main market for you. Every single small city in a while. Also the other Maghreb countries are the ones you should fly to. Not LHR, not AMS.
And read in the forum if an ORS-rating of 87 is enough on competitive routes.
Regarding competition: With the right pattern and profile, you can compete with everybody. But to find that setup you will most likely need some time. Hence it would be good to find a spot / niche where you can test and learn and then start over with the right setup.
You can see and watch youself. If weekend closing is near, then you can see how much you will spend. If that is more than you have cash on your account, then you have got a problem. If the money is there to pay wages and leasing etc., then you are doing fine.
Why does this sound illogical? Look at real existing connections between Portugal and Brasil and also to other former Portuguese (occupied) countries and you will find out that this is very much logical.
Why should someone fly directly from Lisbon to Tokyo? If there are some business people or tourists, they will transfer in let's say London or in Istanbul perhaps or...
Expanding your network is not unrealistic but not to every airport in the world.
Have you already connections to SSA, BEL, MAO, FOR, NAT, REC, CWB, FLN, POA, CNF, VCP, GIG, SDU, GRU, CGH, BSB? If not, you cannot say that you are connecting all major airports to Portugal...
