(...) There has to be some good aspects of reality to this game, or it's simply a waste of my time. (...)
What level of reality is good enough to not waste your time? Should planes in Seattle sometimes be hijacked and crashed? Should pilots call in sick so that the airplane is cancelled and you get an gigantic fine? See, AirlineSim reflect reality to a certain degree. But a simulator will never be realistic. Since when has normal people like us, been able to start a new airline and have succes within 2 weeks?
If you feel that the reality of AirlineSim right now is so bad, that it's a waste of your time - then make a very smart decision.
In regard to your question no. 3.: Due to missing IPO, you want another option for company bonding, in order to grow faster. At the same time, you want more realism? You can lease 25 planes and start flying within 24 hours. Is that realistic? You want it faster than that? Is that realism?
I think it's fair to be disappointed in the lack of new features. One of the things I learned when dealing with clients is to manage expectations and not over-promise unless you are forced to do so. This is where I think AS' communication failed. They announced they were working on booking classes in April 2017 then followed up with a new development blog in August 2017 saying that booking classes and other features were "ready for large scale testing" so people were really expecting for something new. They even said to stay tuned for more news in Q3 2017.
Here we are in Q4 2018, 14 months have passed and there is nothing new, not even a test...
While I cannot talk on behalf of AirlineSim, I am pretty sure that I can state that the develoment of booking classes is on hold for the moment. The reasons are many, but most important is that focus has been on keeping AirlineSim running. We can agree that communications could have been a lot better - and still can be, but main reason for this pause in development is know by the core team, and is fully respected.
I have come to the point where I just accept that AirlineSim is not developing - but it is what it is. The exact same way that I feel, when I open up oldie-games like Ceasar 3, SimCity or whatever game I stumble across from time to time. They are what they are, and will most likely not change too much.
Looking back at what was said when Hoover was launched and where we are 3 months in:
A major complaint is that in older game worlds long-time players can achieve such a dominant role that it makes joining that game world unattractive to other players
Hoover will launch with less demand and a slower growth curve than we had for the last few launches, in an effort to further curb some aggressive start-up strategies
Looks like that plan worked really well....
Compared to earlier start-up's of permanent servers, Hoover is a succes. (In my opinion). Airports are no longer flooded with L4T's, and totally out of slots in 2-3 weeks. It's been 3 months now, and it's still possible to create flights between LHR-DXB. That's a big improvement.
But more can be done, and all servers are being evaluated before the next one starts. Suggestions and ideas are always welcome
''Unless UAB agrees''
The UAB does not want to change it, because it benefits the people themselves
None of my companies benefits from cheap leases, and never have. So please stop generalizing.
Personally my reason for being an UAB member has been to improve AS and give something back. No decisions in UAB has been out of personal interest. And I'm sure this goes for other members of the UAB too.
Well, as most people mention, it depends. My most comfortable flights, has been business class on Qatar, flying KTM - DOH - CPH. Also premium economy on Norwegians 787 are very recommendable - I did that from JFK to CPH.
My absolutely worst flight was from PEK to LAX on an Air China 777. Horrible seats, horrible pitch, horrible legroom, chinese infotainment (was flawed, couldn't choose english) - and personal electronic devices was prohibited. I was simply starring into a seat for 12 hours
I reported some possible multi accounts on Hoover and no reply from support on it... some are well over 10 days old now. It’s annoying when support have time to request silly name changes but not time to look into more serious concerns that actually affects game dynamics. Alas, nothing new and in the end it’s a waiting game to see when and if it gets dealt with.
Cheating and name changes is two different things. Airline name and logos is being handled by a lot of volunteers, while cheating/investigation is being done by AS staff.
The name changes can be important, due to copyright infringement and so on.
There has already been plenty of double accounts on Hoover, which has been deleted.
You're welcome to contact me in game @Hoover, and I'll try to progress the handling of your ticket(s).
